Van Cleef tiara to be worn in “Mirror Mirror”

A diamond-studded tiara that has significant visibility among precious metals buyers will be worn in Mirror Mirror, which is a comedic version of the story of Snow White that includes actresses Julia Roberts and Lily Collins. The item was designed by Paris-based luxury jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels, which is working with the makers of the film in order to supply the tiara, National Jeweler reports.

The luxury item is composed of platinum and white gold, and contains 144 diamonds that total 77.34 carats, according to the media outlet. The tiara has been described as "priceless," as actress Grace Kelly once donned the tiara, Professional Jeweler reports.

Both Collins and Roberts will wear the tiara during Mirror Mirror, the former while playing the role of Snow White, and the latter while performing the part of the evil Queen, according to National Jeweler. The piece will be featured in various communications designed to promote the film in addition to being utilized by the actors.

The tiara was previously on display as part of an exhibit as part of "Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels," which was held at New York's Cooper-Hewitt Museum in 2011, the media outlet reports.
